The Tennessee Valley LEGO Club returned to the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library on June 21-22, 2014, for its second LEGO Extravaganza show. About 1300 visitors attended the event over the weekend, raising some $6000 for library programs, including LEGO programming provided by TNVLC throughout the year.

Highlights of the collaborative layout included a gorgeously detailed rendition of downtown Huntsville, a LEGO mini-golf course, and the biggest monorail yet built by member Charles Naumann. In addition to the town/train display, this year's show featured MOC displays, video, robots, and a variety of activities for kids. TNVLC hosted kids' building challenges, trivia contests, and bingo throughout the weekend, and three rounds of door prizes sent lucky winners home with Creator, Galaxy Squad, Friends, and Ninjago sets.

A Fan Favorites contest was a new item this year, with visitors voting for their favorite creations. Pete Campbell won for Best Town/Train Display with his downtown Huntsville area, and Caleb Ellett won for Best Independent Creation with his Minecraft House. Both winners received LEGO sets donated by The LEGO Company as prizes.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see the show and support the library! TNVLC is already scheduled to return for a third summer show at the library in 2015. For more photos from our Summer Show, check out our Flickr page.
