ClarksvilleCon 2022

On March 19th, 2022 TNVLC participated in the 4th BiAnnual ClarksvilleCon, in Clarksville, TN.

“ClarksvilleCon is a collectors’ mecca convention located in the beautiful City of Clarksville, Tennessee. Striving to be Tennessee’s best and truest comic convention featuring fandoms of multiple genres.” (clarksvillecon.com)

This was the first opportunity for TNVLC to participate in a show in Clarksville and the participants were excited to bring the hobby to a new audience.

Three members of the club participated in the show, Roger McLauchlan, Jarvis Brinson, and Faustino Capati. All three are from the Nashville chapter of the TNVLC.

For the show Faustino brought his collection of Time traveler MOCs and several trains to keep the children entertained. The big hit on his table was his MOC of the Borg from Star Trek. One of the key features of Faustino’s creations is the addition of sound and light to many of his builds.

Jarvis displayed an amazing MOC of the Batcave the grew throughout the show. His use of angle bricks and SNOT (Stud not on top) bricks was truly an inspiration to watch. Additionally, he had a MOC of the Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter, John Wick and his dog, and a MOC of Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner’s epic race

At the completion of the show, Jarvis had drastically improved his Batcave. He intends to keep improving this epic build so stay tuned for more additions.

Roger, being new to MOC building, brought his haunted maze, a magic show habitat, a haunted cemetery micro build, his rendition of the book Holes, and a QR code to the TNVLC webpage. The highlight of his display was helping kids and adults alike find Stanley Yelnats in his Holes MOC.

One of the highlights of the club’s participation at the show was our Play Brick area. This is an area were blue 2x4 bricks are placed on a table and kids are allowed to come and be creative with them. It got off to a slow start since the Play Brick area was not able to be near the club displays, but once Roger started playing with them the kids had a blast creating their own MOCs.

TNVLC is excited to return to ClarksvilleCon in the Fall. Follow our Instagram and Twitter accounts for more updates and visit us at TNVLC.org for a complete calendar of events.
