BrickBlast, Nashville - November 4-5

Post date: Dec 21, 2017 12:11:24 AM

On November 4th and 5th the Nashville chapter of TNVLC presented the second annual BrickBlast at the downtown branch of the Nashville Public Library.

We expanded the event for our second year, keeping the large conference room for displays with separate rooms for bingo, play brick and a small conference room for Minecraft building activity and local FLL robot demonstrations.

As usual our largest display was our collaborative train layout, with sections that included town, fairground, steampunk and a zoo.

The highlight for many people was the giant Death Star.

Though for those more into comic books it would be the giant minifigures

The medieval village continues to expand beautifully and challenge us all

Our Great Ball Contraption was bigger this year thanks to some help from our Knoxville chapter, who also bought sumobots which were a great hit with the kids.

We had really big Micropolis and Habitat displays with help from the Huntsville chapter.

And a big increase in our smaller pop culture builds thanks to new members

It was a great event, with 25 club members from all three chapters participating and saw over 580 attendees.
